If the organization number no longer exist

Domain names which are not linked to a valid organization number may be deleted. To avoid deletion you must transfer the domain name to a new organization.

You receive a notice

If the organization number corresponding to the original registration of the domain name no longer exist at the Brønnøysund Register Centre (Enhetsregisteret), you will receive a notice from us. The notice inform you about he matter, and that you must move the domain in order to avoid deletion.

The domain name may be deleted

The notice gives you a time limit of 60 days to change the holder of the domain name. Domain names that are not moved to a valid organization number by deadline are deleted from the database and become available for new registration. This means that anyone may register the name and start using it.

How to prevent deletion of your domain name

If you still want to keep the domain name registration, you need to contact a registrar, who will help you move the domain name to an organization with a valid organization number.
