- Blocking domain names with two hyphens (October 24th 2001)

To ensure an ordered transition to international domain names
when IETF has chosen a standard, Norid has blocked the registration of
domain names under .no with -- (hyphen followed by hyphen). The
blocking of two hyphens will continue until a standard for
international domain names has been chosen.
