Changes in Norid's procedures (December 16th 2002)

Minor changes will be implemented in the domain name policy on January 3, 2003. This mainly affects the geographical names, and the list of reserved/forbidden names. In addititon there is allowed the possibility of forced transfer of a domain if there exists a final judgement requiring transfer of the domain, and official committees are allowed to register domain names.

Ready for 477 new geographical names under .no (July 11th 2002)

14. August 2002 at 10:00 am Norid will open for registration of domain names under 477 new geographical domains. All organizations who wish for a domain name expressing their connection to a specific area may register under the adress placename.no. In addition counties may establish web portals under the adresses www.placename.no and www.county.no.
