Alternative dispute resolution body established (October 1st 2003)

On October 1st 2003 regulations for the .no domain were modified to include a new dispute resolution body.

Norid established as an independent company (March 14th 2003)

The Board of Directors has decided to establish Norid as an independent company in the UNINETT Group.

IDN - Domain names with national characters

The Domain Name System must be the same all over the world in order to make the Internet work internationally. After several years of work, an international standard is established for allowing special characters into DNS. Norid is working on development of rules and regulations, and technical adjustments, for implementing IDN in the .no-domain.
