These are the additional rules applicable to registration of a domain name under fhs.no, vgs.no, gs.[county].no, fylkesbibl.no, folkebibl.no and museum.no. All the basic rules specified in the main document also apply to these domains, except for the requirement for registration in Norway's Central Coordinating Register for Legal Entities (Enhetsregisteret) described in 5.1. This requirement is replaced by the requirements specified in the item "Who can apply?" below.
The aim of these domains is to enable Norway's schools, libraries and museums to register domain names gathered in a predictable structure.
The applicant must represent an institution of the type in question:
You apply for a domain name for your institution. The domain name must represent the whole of, central parts of, or a natural abbreviation of the institution's actual name.
As a rule, you cannot apply to register domain names which do not have something to do with the institution's own name. Exceptions can be made here if the institution is known under another name in the outside world. The applicant must provide evidence of this to Norid when it submits the application in the normal way.
An institution may register and own up to 5 domain names under these generic domains.
Here are the additional rules applicable to registering a domain name under idrett.no. All the basic rules specified in the main document also apply to these domains, except for the requirement for registration in Norway's Central Coordinating Register for Legal Entities (Enhetsregisteret) described in 5.1. This requirement is replaced by the requirements specified in the item "Who can apply?" below.
The aim of this domain is to enable all sports organizations in Norway to register domain names gathered in a predictable structure.
The applicant must represent a sports organization in Norway. The organization is required to provide evidence of its existence to Norid by specifying an organization number in Norway's Central Coordinating Register for Legal Entities (Enhetsregisteret) within one of the permitted categories stipulated in 5.1 of the domain name policy, or by sending Norid copies of its articles of association or memorandum of association.
