Hearing on Norwegian domain names for private individuals

The rules for private domains will affect you

Currently there is a public hearing on how individuals can register Norwegian domain names in the future. This change affects all Internet users, and until 17th of May everybody can give input to the new rules.

Do you agree or disagree?

Do you agree that the priv.no category domain should continue in the future, and that private individuals should not be allowed to register domains directly within .no?

Do you agree that domain applications within priv.no should be accepted without requirements of proving rights to the name?

Do you agree that there should be a qouta within priv.no, and that the qouta should be set to five domains?

Do you agree that the transition to new rules should be carried out according to the same procedures as at previous policy transitions, meaning that no one should get priority and that there will be a drawing lot?

Read the consultation document and get information on how to submit your answer.

Speak your mind

Everyone can contribute to the hearing on these issues, and we hope you will seize the opportunity and tell your opinion. Closing date is 17th of May 2010.

Submissions will be published on Norid's website after the deadline.

Please note that only submissions in Norwegian will be accepted.
