New registrar agreement as from May 1st 2005 - important changes

The new registrar agreement and the new billing model involve some essential changes. Some of these changes were effective from January 1st, for instance the price reduction, while the remaining changes will be effective as of May 1st. Please observe the following:

Deposit

In the new agreement the monthly quota per registrar is linked to both registrations and renewal of domains. If the quantity of registrations and renewals exceeds the deposit, it has to be raised. The lists on the registrarweb can be used to calculate the necessary amount of the deposit.

Please contact info@norid.no as soon as possible if you need to raise your deposit. There will be some processing time on requests regarding change of deposits.

No more reminders

Invoices will still be issued on the first of every month with a 30 day due date. If an invoice has not been paid after this time a notice of suspension will be sent by email, not by post. The suspension will be effectuated after 5 working days.

Opening fee

If a registrar has been suspended all outstanding invoices as well as an opening fee of NOK 1,000 have to be paid before the registrar regain access to the registration service. Please note that this process might take a few days.

Interest

We will start paying out interest on the deposits early in May. This is a manual process which unfortunately will take some time.
