How to become a registrar

Only entities with an organization number can sign a registrar agreement with Norid. The entity is also required to have its own domain name and must make sure that their technical services are of satisfactory quality.

Those who wish to become a registrar will receive a registrar agreement form which should be signed and returned to Norid. A signed agreement document is considered an application, and an invoice of NOK 5,000 to cover expenses will be issued. In addition a deposit of NOK 10,000 must be paid to cover future neglect. These fees must be paid before the agreement comes into effect.

Please note that a minimum of activity is required to maintain your status as a registrar. The reason for this is to keep the services on a high quality level.

Entities who want to become a registrar may contact us at info@norid.no.

Please note that an English version of the registrar agreement is available for information only, as legal validity exclusively pertains to Norwegian documents.
