Draupne rollout

Draupne is nearing completion

We are working hard to complete the development of the Draupne registry system, and things are starting to fall into place. We expect the development to be finished within the next two-three months. After that, the system will be left to run for some time while we do a number of long-term tests on it. This is important to ensure that the system will be stable and secure when set into production. We aim to have Draupne in production by summer 2010.

The transition to a new system will present you with new challenges in your registrar activities. We have made some support programs for you to help make the transition as smooth as possible, but we will also put a substantial effort into providing training for you.

There will not be a registrar seminar this autumn. All registrars will however be invited to Draupne training on the new year. The training will take several forms, e.g. a seminar, courses, online how-to guides and various test schemes. All registrars have to pass a simple test before they gain access to the production systems.

In the weeks to come, we will provide more information about the road ahead, e.g. development statuses, more details about the training and test schemes, a time table for the rollout and so on.
