Subject: [Informasjon fra Norid] auto-test@norid.no accepts IDN-applications From: Jarle Greipsland Date: Thu, 18 Dec 2003 14:09:39 +0100 (CET) To: registrar@lists.norid.no [ If the following information does not make much sense you, please forward the message to your technical staff. They might be interested in testing their own software and procedures. ] Hi, the test system supporting the auto-test@norid.no address now accepts Domain Applications as specified in http://www.norid.no/regelverk/forslag/idn-2003/skjema/reg_domene.html In particular, it is now possible to submit applications for domain names having characters from outside the set [a-z0-9.-]. The test system will validate the ACE-version of the domain name, should the domain name be an IDN. Note that this validation happens in the back end validation engine, and not in the front end parser, thus there will be a delay between the immediate response and any IDN feedback. Since the underlying code base has gone through extensive changes in order to accomodate IDN, there are most certainly new and interestings bugs in the code. "Expect the unexpected". So, should you discover any errors or irregularities in the test system behavior, please report these to info@norid.no. -jarle
