Moving Norid's registry site

Norid intends to move its primary registry system installation from the current location at the University of Oslo to the new Informatics building at the University.

As part of this operation, Norid will switch to the secondary registry site at NTNU in Trondheim. When the primary installation has been successfully moved, we will switch back to the primary site in Oslo.

There will be two periods of service unavailability:

• Tuesday 10. January 2012 20.00 - 22.00 CET
• Tuesday 17. January 2012 20.00 - 22.00 CET

The registry system (EPP and the EPP client), the registrar web, whois and DAS services will be unavailable. The name service will not be affected.

The switching from the primary to the secondary site will be done by changing the DNS records for the various services, so that they will point to the site in Trondheim instead of to the one in Oslo.

IP addresses

For registrars that maintain access lists or have firewalls that regulate access to Norid's services, please update your configurations with the IP addresses used for the Trondheim site.

The addresses used by the Trondheim site are:
158.38.8.64/27, 2001:700:0:531::/64

The addresses currently used by the Oslo site are:
128.39.62.64/27, 2001:700:0:12F::/64

We intend to change the IPv6 prefix used by the Oslo site, and the new addresses for the Oslo site will be:
128.39.62.64/27, 2001:700:0:412f::/64
