| Domain handling The registration system The registrar scheme Frequently asked questions | Automatic processing of deletion and holder changeAs of today, we start processing deletions and holder changes automatically. The automation applies to those registrars that have sidned the revised registrar agreement. The first ones are already benefitting from this, and we keep adding more registrars as we receive the contracts. We email a confirmation to you as soon as you have been added, but you can also check your status on the registrar web. Log in as 'admin' and look at the Registry Access tab. A new line has been added there, labelled Skip pending for delete/holder change. If that has been set to Yes, then we are processing your deletions and holder changes automatically. Blocking domains after deletionSince domain deletions now can happen very swiftly with no formal signature required, we have added a 30 day block after removal from the DNS. We do this to ensure that there is time to discover that something is wrong, and then to re-create the domain if the deletion was done by mistake. The block is not a replacement for the quarantine you set, but an addition in the cases where the quarantine has been set to less than 30 days. Example 1: You order deletion from the DNS on 1 March with no quarantene added. The domain is deleted from our database on 1 March, but remains blocked until 31 March. Example 2: You order deletion from the DNS on 1 March with quarantene set to end on 15 March. The domain is deleted from our database on 15 March, but remains blocked until 31 March. Example 3: You order deletion from the DNS on 1 March with quarantene set to 12 April. The domain is deleted from our database on 12 April and is immediately available to register. How to retrieve a deleted domainSend an email to info@norid.no, explain the situation and request that the domain be re-registered. We ask that you, the registrar, contact us on behalf of your client, as you are the ones that will be invoiced (see below). Norid will then reconstruct the domain manually, and email you with a confirmation as soon as the domain is back in the database. Please note that this will be invoiced the same way as new registrations (NOK 60). You do not, however, need to collect a new applicant declaration and the 'created'-date will remain as it was, so ensure that the complaint deadline and such will not be reset. |
