New registry system

A new registry system (project name Draupne) was launched on 5 October 2010. Part of the objective of a new system was to meet a continued strong growth in the number of domain names, causing an increasing number of applications and notifications passing through the system. In addition, we wanted further automatization, shorter processing time, and a more self-service for the registrars. For the domain name holders the new system provides a better opportunity to secure their domains, among other things by setting a password to prevent unwanted transfers.
