Have you taken the registrar test?

By 20 September, you must have passed the registrar test in order to be guaranteed access to the new registry system when it launches. At the time this newsletter was published, 11,2 % of the registrars have passed the test, and they represent 11,1 % of the .no domains. You can see the portion of registrars that have passed the test here.

We recommend that the registrars that haven't taken the test yet do it as soon as possible. Those of you planning to use your own EPP client for the new system should also use that client when you take the registrar test.

We especially urge everyone coming to the registrar seminar to take the test before you come to Gardermoen, and let us hear any questions or comments you have when we meet.

Check your deposit and registrar quota

When the current registrar agreement became operative in 2005, the monthly registrar quota was defined as covering both the registration fees and the renewal fees. The quota is regulated by the deposit. In the current registry system, the quota has only regulated the registrations, while the renewals have not been taken into account.

When the new system goes into production in October, the renewals will also be counted, as well as holder changes. We therefore recommend that you check if your deposit is big enough to cover the sum of new registrations, renewals and holder changes you expect to process per month. Adjusting the deposit involves some paper work, so please contact us at info@norid.no sooner rather than later.
