The registrar test is readyThe test checks that you are able to use the new registrar web and perform all the basic EPP transactions that are needed in the day to day business of registering and maintaining domains. All registrars, both current and future, must pass the test. Why is there a test? When Draupne goes into production on 4 October, EPP will be the only interface we offer for registering and maintaining domains. The registrar test ensures that all who gain access to the production systems have the skills and the setups that are needed to do the registrar job. What happens if you don't pass the test?If you don't pass the test, you don't gain access to the registry system. Without it, you can't register and maintain domains for your clients. The registrar agreement requires that the registrar should have "...adequate technical and administrative resources to assist Norid and to provide good service to applicants and subscribers." A registrar that fails to pass the test does not have the resources requires. At worst, this means that we may cancel the registrar agreement based on failure to pass the test. Should this situation arise, you will get 30 days to retake the test before the cancellation is finalised. We will not issue any cancellations based on failure to pass the test until after 4 October. We still wish to inform everyone about this now, to ensure that you are all aware of the conditions. DeadlineYou can take the test at any time. For us to be able to guarantee your access to the registry systems from day one, you must pass the test by 20 September. |
