The registrar scheme Frequently asked questions

Services

The registry system offers a number of interfaces and services intended for the registrars, and a couple of services intended for the public. You will find each service listed in the left menu.

New registrars are encouraged to test them all and learn how to use them. Please see the testing page for details on how to try them out, provide feedback and report problems and errors.

Registrar services

The EPP registry service, the EPP web client, and the Registrar web client are protected services. They are offered via a secure web server run by Norid. The registrars will need special test accounts to access the services.

Public services

The Whois and DAS services are lookup services mainly intended for public use. Registrars may also use the services as a supplement to the EPP lookup (Check/Info) possibilities. The PID automat (person ID automat) is a service that provides personal identifiers for individual applicants.

How to get started

You will find further information on how you aquire test accounts and how to get started with the various testing in our bug-tracking wiki system at https://trac.uninett.no/draupne/.

On the front page of the wiki, there are links to each of the services, and guidelines on how to perform the practical testing.
