Technical about the electronic applicant declaration
During 2011 and the winter 2012 Norid, together with the registrars, developed a model for collection of electronic applicant declarations.
An applicant can now submit his applicant declaration electronically by visiting a web service which must present the terms and conditions that apply for a domain registration. Further it must offer the possibility to accept the terms and conditions for the domain name or domain names to be applied for. This procedure is legally acceptable, and there are no longer a need to collect a paper based and manually signed declaration.
Please look here for the history on the development of the new concept.
Technical background document
During the period, a technical background document was developed. It describes the requirements for collection of an electronic applicant declaration, and also requirements to the systems for the collection.
The document in its final version is found here (PDF).
